​Heritage traverse

The 10.5km Heritage Traverse is as flat as it gets, perfect for an enjoyable run or walk! Known as the "half of a half," this scenic course starts on the edge of the Hanmer Springs Heritage Forest and winds through breath-taking 100-year-old woodlands, offering a truly picturesque autumn experience.

What to expect on course

The 10.5km course is fully supported by event staff, volunteers and medics, with drink stations and toilets along the way. Drink stations provide Pure Sports Nutrition electrolytes, water and cups.

Course Check points
Cut-offs are in place for participant safety and course management. Participants who fall behind the required pace may be stopped and transported back to the event venue. Additional cut-offs may apply in adverse weather.
All participants must reach the finishline by 1:30pm:

Wave 1 8:45am Start - expected finished time under 60mins
In this wave runners are aiming to have a great result, give it a crack and maybe try for a PB.

Wave 2 - expected finished time, 1:00 -1:055hrs
In this wave runners are aiming to run the whole course to set a good time

Wave 3 -  expected finished time, 1:05 -1:25hrs

In this wave runners are aiming to run or jog the whole course

​Wave 4 - expected finished time, 1:25hrs plus
In this wave runners are aiming to run and walk the course at their own pace.

Wave 5 - The Party Wave  -  expected finished time, 1:45hrs plus
This start wave is for all walkers.

All participants who finish the event will receive a finisher medal.

​​Age-group prizes are also available for the top three male and female participants in each category


Run: U20 | 20-29 | 30-39 | 40-49 | 50-59 | 60 - 69 | 70+ 

Walk: Open​ ​

There is no prize giving ceremony at this event - it's simply too cold at this time of year. Participants who are eligible for the placing prizes must collect it from the information tent located at the finish line between 11am and 1pm.  Prize will not be posted out.  ​
